Former SEC Chair: 'No Regrets' on Stringent Regulation, Always Committed to Investor Protection

BlockBeats News, September 19th, Former SEC Chair Gary Gensler said in an interview with CNBC that he has “no regrets” about his time as Wall Street’s top regulator, despite the SEC rapidly dismantling his policies, and the crypto community being “ecstatic” about his departure.

Gary Gensler stated, “I am very proud of what we accomplished. I took an oath of office and led an enforcement agency that was always focused on protecting investors.” CNBC noted in the interview that under the leadership of the new chair Paul Atkins, the U.S. crypto industry suddenly became full of innovation, leadership, and capital, but Gary Gensler remained unmoved, disregarding the praise his successor received, insisting that apart from Bitcoin, much of the crypto industry is still in a speculative frenzy, disconnected from fundamentals, highly speculative. After leaving the SEC in January this year, he returned to MIT as a professor of global economics and management practice, researching and teaching AI, fintech, and public policy.
