BlockBeats News, September 20th. According to Hong Kong media Oriental Daily News, the Hong Kong police received a report from a 75-year-old local man. He stated that he had previously received a call from a self-proclaimed cryptocurrency investment expert who persuaded him to invest in the cryptocurrency ETH with the promise of high returns. The victim then followed instructions and, between July 11th and September 9th, made 19 transactions depositing a total of approximately 26.2 million Hong Kong dollars’ worth of cryptocurrency into 6 accounts. The Hong Kong police stated that this case is currently being treated as a fraudulent scheme to obtain property and has been referred to the Wan Chai Police District Crime Investigation Team, Unit Nine, for further investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
