Data: Metaplanet has achieved 25.6% of its 100,000 Bitcoin holdings target.

BlockBeats News, September 22nd, Japanese publicly traded company Metaplanet today acquired 5,419 BTC for $633 million, completing 85% of its annual Bitcoin target and rising to the fifth-largest corporate holder. The average purchase price for this acquisition was $116,724 per BTC. Metaplanet currently holds a total of 25,555 BTC, valued at around $2.91 billion.

Metaplanet’s Bitcoin Strategy Director, Dylan LeClair, stated today, “Please note that this purchase is only the first batch.” The additional funding for today’s purchase comes from its recently completed $1.45 billion international stock issuance financing. Currently, Metaplanet has achieved 85.2% of its goal to hold 30,000 BTC by the end of 2025 and a quarter of its target to hold 100,000 BTC by 2026. In the first quarter of 2025, Metaplanet achieved a 95.6% BTC return, followed by a 129.4% return in the second quarter of 2025.
