The CFTC Announces Aptos Labs CEO Avery Ching and Others as New Members of the Global Markets Advisory Committee Subgroup

BlockBeats News, September 22nd, Caroline D. Pham, Acting Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), announced the new member list of the Global Markets Advisory Committee (GMAC) and its subcommittees, and congratulated Avery Ching, Co-Founder and CEO of Aptos Labs, on his appointment as a member of the Digital Asset Market Subcommittee.

GMAC is one of the most important advisory bodies to the CFTC, composed of experts from both traditional finance and the digital asset sector. It has long provided policy advice to the CFTC, shaping not only U.S. regulatory decisions but also serving as a key reference for international discussions on global market structure and digital asset regulation. Pham stated that she looks forward to collaborating with industry leaders such as Avery, Scott Lucas, Head of JPMorgan’s Digital Asset Markets, and Sandy Kaul, Executive Vice President at Franklin Templeton, to promote the orderly development of the digital asset market.

With over a decade of experience in building large-scale infrastructure, Avery previously led blockchain development, wallet infrastructure, and technical implementation of the Diem blockchain project at Meta before founding Aptos. Avery’s participation signifies the growing influence of Web3 technology builders in global regulatory dialogues.
