BlockBeats News, October 5th, according to IT Home, on October 3rd, Discord announced that its third-party customer service provider was hacked, and some customer information was stolen and used to extort Discord.
This cybersecurity incident affected some Discord users who had interacted with the customer support team or the Trust & Safety team, involving chat records, real names, usernames, email addresses, IP addresses, transaction history, payment information, last four digits of credit cards, and included a small number of identity document photos used for age verification. Discord immediately revoked the implicated third party’s access to the Discord ticketing system upon discovery of the incident. According to preliminary analysis, the unauthorized third party that carried out the attack did not have the ability to directly access Discord.
