Trump Refiles Defamation Suit Against The New York Times

BlockBeats News, October 17th, U.S. President Trump on Thursday local time once again brought up a defamation lawsuit against The New York Times and several journalists, accusing the media of attempting to undermine his 2024 reelection campaign and disparage his business reputation. Earlier, a federal judge dismissed his initial lawsuit citing its lengthy and verbose nature. The revised complaint submitted Thursday night has been reduced to 40 pages, less than half of the original version. The original complaint’s defendant, New York Times journalist Michael S. Schmidt, has been removed from the defendant list. Also removed are extensive praises of Trump, such as referring to his 2024 election victory as the “greatest personal and political achievement in American history.” Consistent with the original complaint, the revised complaint still demands $150 billion in damages.
