BlockBeats News, December 10th – According to Bloomberg, U.S. President Trump said this week will begin the final round of interviews for the next Federal Reserve chairman and will consider several candidates. Trump told the media on Air Force One on Tuesday, “We will consider several different candidates, but I am very clear about who I want.” White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett remains the top candidate to succeed Powell as head of the Fed, but his victory is not certain.
Trump recently said he would soon select a new Fed chair, but might not announce it until early 2026. Trump and U.S. Treasury Secretary Benet will interview former Fed governor Kevin Wash on Wednesday, and the two are expected to conduct at least one interview next week.
