BlockBeats News, December 21st, Founder of crypto market analysis firm Santiment, Maksim Balashevich, stated that there is still not enough panic sentiment evident on social media to confirm a market bottom, and Bitcoin could still drop to around $75,000, meaning a potential further decline of about 14.77% from the current level. Balashevich explained that many users are still optimistically expecting a quick reversal of the downtrend, but this scenario typically does not occur when the true market bottom is forming.
On Thursday, Jurrien Timmer, Director of Global Macro Research at Fidelity, suggested that Bitcoin may experience a “yearlong plateau” in 2026, with prices potentially dropping to around $65,000. Matt Hougan, Chief Investment Officer at Bitwise, on the other hand, predicted that 2026 would be the “year of ascent” for Bitcoin.
