Neo Co-founder Zhang Zhongwen Reveals Governance Framework and Ledger Status, Announces Return to Mainnet Management

BlockBeats News, January 1st, NEO’s two co-founders, Zhang Zilong (Erik Zhang) and Da Hongfei, pointed fingers at each other for monopolizing financial power and lacking transparency. Zhang Zilong stated that he will return to full management of the Neo mainnet to defend the core rights of NEO/GAS holders. At the same time, Zhang Zilong revealed the current NEO governance structure and the status of the funds.

Zhang Zilong stated that the majority of NEO and GAS assets of the Neo Foundation are now publicly distributed among 21 initial node addresses and 1 multisig wallet. Previously, during Da Hongfei’s request for Zhang Zilong to step down from Foundation management, approximately 8 million NEO/GAS tokens were transferred to multiple multisig addresses designated by Da Hongfei at his request. In addition to the transparent NEO/GAS mentioned above, all auxiliary assets held by the Neo Foundation (including but not limited to BTC, ETH, and other ecosystem project tokens) are currently under Da Hongfei’s personal control. Zhang Zilong stated that these assets have been in a “black box” state for years, and Da Hongfei has been unable to provide any verifiable financial statements, asset lists, or audit proofs.
