Coinbase CEO: On-chain IPO Will Significantly Reduce Costs, Lower Friction, and Increase Participation

BlockBeats News, January 26th, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said, “We need to make it easier for private companies to access capital. Currently, there is more incentive for companies to stay public for longer. Companies often remain private for many years, with all profits flowing to private/credit investors. After going public, stock performance is usually poor. This is because in the early stages of a company’s lifecycle, there is a lack of a liquid market to establish a reasonable valuation. Ultimately, companies will be able to complete the entire listing process on-chain, which will significantly reduce costs, reduce friction, and increase participation. Hopefully, that day will come soon.”
