BlockBeats News, February 6th, Michael Saylor responded to concerns about Bitcoin’s quantum computing risk during the Strategy fourth-quarter earnings call, stating that these claims are just FUD surrounding Bitcoin and dismissing them.
Michael Saylor stated that quantum computing is still over 10 years away from true maturity and is currently a promising but early-stage technology. Many industries, including financial services and defense, still heavily rely on traditional cryptographic systems. Globally, efforts to counter quantum cryptographic protocols are intensifying in investment and research. The Bitcoin community has also been discussing and participating in relevant research and development work. If Bitcoin does indeed need to be upgraded in the future, consensus will be reached globally.
After implementing post-quantum security upgrades, Bitcoin will only become stronger. Strategy will launch a Bitcoin security initiative, collaborating with the global cybersecurity, cryptography, and Bitcoin security communities.
