Alan Howard-backed Crypto Incubator WebN Group Set to Close

BlockBeats News, February 26: Crypto incubator WebN Group, supported by billionaire Alan Howard, is set to close. The institution previously invested in digital asset infrastructure projects such as KAIO (formerly Libre), Twinstake, TruFin, and Geometry, and received investment from Laser Digital, a crypto joint venture platform under Japan’s Nomura, in 2023.

Sources said WebN is considered to have “completed its mission,” and some employees have moved to work at Brevan Howard; previously, Brevan Howard’s digital asset fund suffered a loss of nearly 30% in 2025 and significantly reduced its holdings in BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust by about 85%.
