BlockBeats News, March 2nd, Amazon Web Services (AWS) stated that a data center in the UAE caught fire at around 4:30 am on March 1st. The incident was caused by a foreign object striking the facility, sparking a fire that affected the Availability Zone with the code name mec1-az2.

To assist the fire department in extinguishing the fire, the facility has been powered off. AWS stated that it is expected to take several hours to restore connectivity to the affected area, while other Availability Zones within the UAE are currently operational.
