BlockBeats News, March 3rd, U.S. President Trump stated that in response to the drone attack on the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and U.S. military casualties in Iran-related conflicts, the U.S. retaliatory measures will be announced “soon.” He also mentioned that the U.S. does not need to deploy ground troops to Iran.
The Saudi Ministry of Defense reported on social media that a preliminary assessment indicated that two drones hit the U.S. Embassy facility in Riyadh, causing a small fire and some material damage. Multiple sources stated that the incident occurred early Tuesday morning when there were no staff in the embassy, and there have been no reports of casualties. Black smoke was seen rising over the diplomatic quarter in Riyadh. The embassy subsequently issued a “shelter-in-place” notice to U.S. citizens in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dharan.
Marco Rubio stated in a press conference that the U.S. faces an “imminent threat,” revealing that the U.S. is aware of Israel’s plans to act against Iran and anticipates Iranian retaliation possibly through attacks on U.S. military targets. Mike Johnson, after receiving a classified briefing, mentioned that the U.S. is pursuing a “limited scope, target-specific, but absolutely necessary for defense” operation and expects it to conclude soon.
Furthermore, U.S.-Israeli airstrikes against Iran continue to escalate, with Israel targeting Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, and Iran carrying out missile and drone attacks on Gulf states hosting U.S. forces.
