BlockBeats News, March 15th. According to Qatar’s Al Jazeera on the 15th, in response to U.S. President Trump’s recent tweet calling for multiple countries to send naval ships to escort through the Strait of Hormuz, France, Japan, South Korea, and the UK have responded. According to Al Jazeera, France stated that it will not send warships. The French Foreign Ministry’s official social media account posted on Platform X, saying, “No, the French aircraft carrier and its fleet will continue to remain in the Eastern Mediterranean.” Japanese officials told local media that Japan will not dispatch warships solely based on Trump’s call, stating that “Japan will independently decide its response, and independent judgment is crucial.”
The South Korean presidential office stated on the 15th that it will carefully consider Trump’s call and maintain “close communication” with the U.S. A spokesperson for the UK’s Ministry of Defense, in response to the call, told U.S. media that the UK is “currently discussing a range of options with our allies and partners to ensure maritime security in the region.” Al Jazeera reported that the above responses indicate that so far no country has publicly responded to Trump’s call.
