Israeli Air Force Major Accused of Profiting from Insider Information to Trade on Polymarket

BlockBeats News, March 27th, according to The Times of Israel, a court in Tel Aviv revealed on Thursday that an Israeli Air Force reservist is suspected of using classified information to trade on Polymarket about last year’s Israel-Iran war.

The defendant, a former Air Force colonel, was charged last month with serious security offenses, as well as bribery and obstruction of justice, along with his accomplice. They are suspected to have traded on the timing of Israel’s first airstrike during the 12-day war launched by Israel in June 2025. Authorities have not disclosed the suspect’s identity or the specific details of the trade. The case was initially under a court-issued gag order, which was partially lifted on Thursday night after applications from several Hebrew media outlets, allowing the case details to be made public, but the defendant’s name has still not been disclosed.

After successfully predicting the event in June last year, the two men collectively received $162,663, agreeing to split the money. Last month, prosecutors filed charges against the two in the Tel Aviv District Court and sought to keep them detained until the legal process is concluded.
