Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister: Hormuz Strait Not Closed, Negotiations Must Proceed with Preconditions

BlockBeats News, April 9th, according to UK ITV News, on April 9th, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister made the latest statement on two key issues:

The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister denied the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, stating that the strait is open to all civilian vessels, and that related reports are inaccurate. However, he pointed out that due to war-era sea mines, passing vessels must contact Iranian authorities in advance to obtain safe passage guidance. Those who have communicated with the Iranian side have all been granted passage permits.

An Iranian delegation will travel to Islamabad for peace talks, but the precondition is for Israel to stop its attacks on Lebanon. The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that any regional peace agreement must include Lebanon, stating that the “next few hours will be crucial.” He also revealed that Iran was on the brink of retaliatory action last night, but ultimately chose restraint due to diplomatic considerations and because the United States had requested a ceasefire from Israel.

Currently, Iran still leaves room for negotiations, but its stance is clear: a ceasefire in Lebanon is the entry ticket, and the direction of the situation in the next few hours will directly determine whether the Islamabad talks can proceed as scheduled.
