Vance: Failure to reach an agreement was due to Tehran’s refusal to abandon its pursuit of nuclear weapons

BlockBeats News, April 12th, according to The Wall Street Journal report, U.S. Vice President Vance stated after a marathon peace negotiation between the U.S. and Iran that the two sides failed to reach an agreement because Tehran refused to give up its pursuit of nuclear weapons. “Unfortunately, we did not make any progress.” Vance also called on Iran to “make” a clear commitment to no longer seek nuclear weapons.” Iran’s chief negotiator, on the other hand, stated that Washington failed to earn its trust.

Furthermore, the U.S. also stated that two U.S. Navy destroyers passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, marking the first time U.S. warships have passed through the waterway since the start of the war. In response, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Navy denied that these vessels passed through the strait and stated that any attempt to pass through the water passage would be met with a “decisive and robust response.”
