Zerion reveals last week a team member’s device was compromised by North Korean hackers, resulting in the company’s hot wallet losing around $100,000

BlockBeats News, April 15th, Web3 wallet app Zerion disclosed that last week a team member fell victim to an AI social engineering attack linked to a North Korean threat actor, resulting in approximately $100,000 in funds from the company’s hot wallet being stolen. User funds and app infrastructure were not affected.

Following the incident, Zerion proactively took down the web app and is expected to resume service within 48 hours. They have also rotated all leaked credentials, secured deployment infrastructure, and are collaborating with security partners such as Blockaid, ZeroShadow, ChainPatrol to trace the attacker’s wallet. The address holding the stolen funds has been reported to relevant law enforcement authorities.
