Iran Notifies Closure of the Strait of Hormuz

BlockBeats News, April 19th. The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy announced on the evening of April 18th local time that due to the United States violating the ceasefire agreement and not lifting the blockade on Iranian ships and ports, the Strait of Hormuz has been closed from that evening until the US blockade is lifted.

Iran warned that all ships in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman are not allowed to leave their anchorage. Any activity near the Strait of Hormuz will be considered cooperation with the enemy, and violators will be targeted.

The statement also notified all ships and their owners to only obtain information through the official channels of the Revolutionary Guard Navy and relevant channels. The “US President’s remarks on the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf have no credibility.” (FX168)
