Arbitrum Security Council Freezes KelpDAO Hacker’s 30,766 ETH

BlockBeats News, April 21st, the Arbitrum Security Council announced that emergency action has been taken to rescue 30,766 ETH held in the Arbitrum One address associated with the KelpDAO exploit. With the assistance of law enforcement, the Security Council has identified the attacker’s identity and has consistently ensured that the security and integrity of the Arbitrum community are maintained, with no impact on any Arbitrum users or applications.

After extensive technical investigation and review, the Security Council identified and implemented a technical solution to move the funds to a secure location without affecting the state of any other chains or Arbitrum users. As of 11:26 PM Eastern Time on April 20th, the funds have been successfully transferred to an interim freeze address. The original address holding the funds is now unable to access them, and only the Arbitrum custodians can take further action to transfer these funds in coordination with all parties involved.
