BlockBeats News, March 10th, according to TechCrunch, Legora, an AI platform for lawyers, has completed a $550 million Series D funding round, led by Accel, with existing investors Benchmark, Bessemer, General Catalyst, ICONIQ, Redpoint Ventures, and Y Combinator participating; newly joined investors include Alkeon Capital, Bain Capital, Firstmark Capital, Menlo Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, Sands Capital, and Starwood Capital.

Legora is built on top of a large language model, mainly based on Claude. However, positioned as a platform to assist lawyers in handling complex cases, the company’s CEO, Max Junestrand, stated via live broadcast at the Stockholm Techarena conference: “Although everyone can have their own ‘pocket lawyer’ in Claude, our solution is tailored to a different use case.” Legora focuses on embedding within the client’s workflow, with currently 800 law firms and legal teams using its platform.

In addition to New York and Stockholm, Legora also has offices in Bangalore, London, and Sydney, with plans for further expansion. Meanwhile, alongside the completion of the Series D funding round, Legora announced the opening of offices in Houston and Chicago and plans to open more local branches in the future. By the end of 2026, the total number of employees in its U.S. offices will exceed 300.
