Base Protocol Lead: Will not rush token release, no immediate timetable announced

BlockBeats News, October 3rd, Base Protocol lead Jesse Pollak stated during his participation in the “Crypto Playbook” video podcast that the Base code is fully open source and aims to become a Linux-style multi-developer ecosystem. This is precisely why Coinbase plans to issue tokens on Base — to achieve token decentralization through alignment incentives. Last month, Coinbase began releasing token concepts, which, if successful, will undoubtedly attract the attention of developers and speculators.

Pollak emphasized that Coinbase will never rush forward and has no short-term schedule plans. He acknowledged the significant historical issues surrounding token issuance, as it often becomes a tool for project teams to enrich themselves at the expense of the ecosystem. In response, Coinbase is proceeding cautiously and collaborating with projects on Base that have issued tokens responsibly (such as Aerodrome, which has implemented a “fully fair launch”). “Tokens are unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution,” Pollak pointed out.
