BlockBeats News, April 3rd, Coinbase partners with the Linux Foundation to launch the x402 Foundation, aimed at managing the x402 Payment Standard using an open governance model. This standard enables websites and APIs to seamlessly request and receive payments in regular HTTP interactions, thus creating a native payment layer for the web. As the original creators of the protocol, Coinbase has contributed the technology to the Linux Foundation to ensure neutral development, with Coinbase and Base remaining as founding participants.
