This comes after Warren posted on Twitter, following Trump’s pardon, suggesting that CZ had been “convicted of money laundering.” However, CZ has never been convicted of money laundering; he has only been previously accused of violating the U.S. Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Binance’s failure to implement effective anti-money laundering procedures.
CZ’s attorney, Teresa Goody Guillen, stated that they are in the process of drafting a letter through her to demand Warren retract her statement. If Warren does not formally retract her statement, CZ plans to immediately file a defamation lawsuit against the senator.
