Decentralized Mapping Project Bee Maps Raises $32 Million, Led by Pantera Capital

BlockBeats News, October 6th, according to CoinDesk, Decentralized Mapping project Bee Maps (powered by Hivemapper) announced the completion of a $32 million new funding round, led by Pantera Capital, LDA Capital, Borderless Capital, and Ajna Capital.

Bee Maps is an application running on the Hivemapper network. Hivemapper is one of the world’s largest decentralized spatial infrastructure networks based on Solana, focusing on map data construction. Hivemapper allows drivers to contribute data through AI-equipped dashcams, which can real-time detect road changes (such as new signs, detours, construction areas, etc.), ensuring that digital maps can be quickly updated and remain accurate.

Bee Maps leverages this infrastructure to incentivize users to upload street-level image data and rewards them with its native token HONEY.
