
BlockBeats News, March 22, Sumit Gupta and Neeraj Khandelwal, two co-founders of the Indian cryptocurrency exchange CoinDCX, which is invested in by Coinbase, were arrested by the police for their alleged involvement in a cryptocurrency investment scam. However, according to other local media reports, the two were only summoned for questioning and not arrested.
CoinDCX issued a statement stating that the case involved someone impersonating a CoinDCX founder and defrauding an insurance consultant of 7.1 million rupees (about $75,000), and is unrelated to the two founders.
