According to CCTV News, on April 8th local time, the Iranian Supreme National Security Council issued a statement in the early hours of the 8th, stating that based on the Supreme Leader’s suggestion and the approval of the Supreme National Security Council, it has accepted Pakistan’s ceasefire proposal. The statement mentioned that almost all of Iran’s objectives in this war have been achieved, the enemy has “suffered a historic and thorough defeat,” and Iran will “continue the struggle until its great achievements are consolidated, establishing a new security and political order in the region.” It was also decided to hold negotiations in Islamabad to determine the details and “consolidate the victory through political negotiations within a maximum of 15 days.” The statement also stated that Iran rejected all enemy proposals and formulated a ten-point plan, submitted to the United States through Pakistan. The plan emphasized the following key points:
Coordinate with the Iranian armed forces to control passage through the Strait of Hormuz; end the war on all members of the “Axis of Resistance” and put an end to the aggression of the Israeli regime; withdraw all US combat forces from all bases and deployment points in the region; establish a safe transit agreement in the Strait of Hormuz to ensure Iran’s dominance; fully compensate Iran for its losses based on the assessment results; lift all primary and secondary sanctions and relevant Security Council resolutions; release all frozen Iranian assets and properties overseas; finally, all these matters should be approved in a binding Security Council resolution.
