Kraken OTC Desk onboards with ICE Chat, becoming the first crypto platform to be granted access

BlockBeats News, February 18th, the U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Kraken announced that its over-the-counter (OTC) trading desk has officially integrated with ICE Chat, a messaging platform owned by Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). This means that more than 120,000 banks, brokers, and trading firms in the global financial market can now directly communicate with Kraken’s OTC team and access crypto liquidity within their existing trading workflows.

Kraken stated that this is the first cryptocurrency platform to be granted access to ICE Chat, marking a further integration of digital asset trading into traditional financial market infrastructure.

ICE, the owner of the New York Stock Exchange, provides data, clearing, and technology services to global financial markets. Over the past year, ICE has been increasing its involvement in the digital asset space, investing in prediction market Polymarket, crypto payment company MoonPay, and partnering with Chainlink to bring forex and precious metals data onto the blockchain.

Following this integration, Kraken’s crypto spot and OTC large block trades will be listed alongside stocks, derivatives, and other traditional asset classes on an institutional-grade communication network.
