
BlockBeats News, October 15th, NBCUniversal and Aptos Labs announced the joint launch of the new fan interaction reward platform Backlot Club, marking a further deepening of the strategic cooperation between the two parties.
The Backlot platform is built on Aptos’ Layer 1 blockchain technology and aims to connect Universal Pictures’ global fans through digital rewards collected from online and offline activities.
The Backlot platform seems to have completed a pilot operation at the 2025 Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights, successfully supporting the “on-chain treasure hunt” activity. Users obtained physical and virtual rewards by collecting digital badges, and all assets are anchored to the Aptos on-chain assets. This is not the first collaboration between Aptos and NBCUniversal. Under a multi-year agreement, the two companies have previously carried out Web3 fan interaction projects around films such as “Rainfield” and “The Exorcist: The Believer,” expanding blockchain-based games, membership programs, and IP experiences.
