Prior to this, OpenAI and NVIDIA announced the signing of a letter of intent to establish a partnership. NVIDIA (NVDA.O) stated that it plans to invest up to $10 billion in OpenAI. OpenAI stated that it will deploy the first batch of 1 gigawatt (1GW) scale NVIDIA systems (artificial intelligence data centers) in the second half of 2026. NVIDIA expressed that it looks forward to finalizing the details of the new phase of strategic partnership with OpenAI in the coming weeks.
