Opinion: DeFi TVL Evaporates Nearly $10 Billion Due to KelpDAO Hack, Shrinking the Industry’s “Cake”

BlockBeats News, April 19th, Defillama founder 0xngmi stated that the KelpDAO hack has triggered a DeFi lending protocol bank run, causing a chain reaction of panic withdrawals, even protocols on Solana and those not directly affected were not spared. The specific data is as follows:

Aave Net Outflow of $6.2 billion (-23%)

Morpho Net Outflow of $0.716 billion (-9%)

Sky Net Outflow of $0.272 billion (-4%)

JupLend Net Outflow of $76 million (-8%)

0xngmi additionally stated that the entire DeFi TVL has therefore directly evaporated nearly $10 billion. In such events, there are no winners, only causing the whole industry’s “cake” to shrink, and everyone suffers.
