Osmosis Proposes Major Governance Proposal to Convert OSMO to ATOM

BlockBeats News, March 11th, Osmosis released a major governance proposal for the Cosmos ecosystem, proposing to directly integrate Osmosis into the Cosmos Hub, with the Osmosis DEX being native migrated to the Hub, thereby unifying liquidity, governance, and security on a single chain. With the exception of OSMO in the Osmosis community pool that is not yet deployed, all circulating OSMO will be eligible for conversion to ATOM within a designated six-month window. The proposed conversion rate is 0.0355 ATOM per 1.998 OSMO.

The Cosmos Hub community pool currently holds about 10.11 million ATOM, with approximately 1.75 million ATOM still available, accounting for about 0.35% of the total supply, equivalent to less than two weeks of staking emissions. This proposal will not introduce any ongoing emissions or structural inflation changes. The conversion window will remain open for six months. Any unclaimed ATOM at the end will be returned to the Cosmos Hub community pool.
