BlockBeats News, March 13th. Hester Peirce, commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), delivered a speech on Thursday at the SEC’s Investor Advisory Committee, calling for regulatory agencies to simplify public company disclosure requirements and advance an innovative exemption mechanism for tokenized securities.
Peirce pointed out that public companies expend significant resources preparing mandatory disclosure documents, but the related content often fails to effectively enhance the quality of investor information access and may instead lead to information overload. Regulatory agencies should avoid excessive intervention in the market. SEC staff are actively advancing research on potential innovative exemption mechanisms to allow limited experimental exploration of tokenized securities within the existing securities law framework. Blockchain systems hold the potential to achieve faster settlement and reduce reliance on traditional intermediaries in certain scenarios.
