Tajikistan Introduces Criminal Penalties for Illegal Use of Electricity Mining

BlockBeats News, December 10th, according to Asia-Plus, Tajikistan has introduced criminal penalties for the illegal use of electricity to mine virtual assets and cryptocurrency through an amendment to the Criminal Code. Violators will face a fine of 15,000 to 75,000 somonis or 2 to 8 years of imprisonment.

Prior to this, cryptocurrency was neither legal nor illegal in Tajikistan and was in a regulatory gray area.
