BlockBeats News, December 15th, according to Bloomberg, the Bank of Japan is set to start gradually selling its held ETF assets as early as January 2026, a process expected to last for decades to avoid market disruption.

As of the end of September, its ETF holdings had a market value of about 83 trillion yen (approximately $753 billion), with a book value of around 37.1 trillion yen. The principles for this disposal were decided at the September policy meeting.
