BlockBeats News, March 13th: Thomas Ranja, spokesperson for digital economy affairs at the European Commission, stated at a press conference on the 13th that American entrepreneur Musk’s social media platform X has submitted a rectification plan to the European Commission for “Blue Checkmark Certification”.
On December 12, 2025, the European Commission made its first “non-compliance decision” under the Digital Services Act, imposing a €1.2 billion fine on the X platform. The EU accused X’s “Blue Checkmark Certification” of being obtainable through payment only, being misleading to users in its interface design; X’s ad library was non-compliant in terms of transparency and accessibility; X failed to grant platform public data access to eligible researchers as required.
