
BlockBeats News, February 19th — According to data released today by the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. trade deficit in December 2025 widened, closing a year of turbulence and tariff policy unpredictability. The trade deficit in goods and services expanded to $70.3 billion compared to the previous month. The annual deficit reached $901.5 billion, one of the largest deficits on record since 1960. December’s trade deficit reflected a 3.6% increase in imports, while exports of goods and services decreased by 1.7%. The market generally expected the total trade deficit for December to be $55.5 billion.
