The White House Budget Office said it will continue furloughs to address the government shutdown

BlockBeats News, October 14th: As the U.S. government shutdown enters its 14th day with no resolution in sight, the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has stated that it will continue to furlough federal agency employees while ensuring that military personnel and federal law enforcement officers continue to receive their pay.

The OMB posted on social media on Tuesday, saying, “OMB is prepared and standing by to confront the Democratic Party’s obstinacy. Paying the salaries of military personnel, paying the salaries of law enforcement agencies, continuing with layoffs, and waiting for developments.”

Last Friday, the White House OMB implemented the first round of workforce reductions, dismissing over 4,000 federal employees, further escalating the government funding deadlock standoff with the Democratic Party. (Forex Live)
