Trump Imposes Tariffs on 8 European Countries Over Greenland Issue

BlockBeats News, January 18th, Trump posted on Truth Social, stating that starting from February 1st this year, a 10% tariff will be imposed on all goods exported to the United States from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Finland due to the Greenland issue. By June 1st this year, the tariff will be increased to 25%. The tariff must be paid continuously until an agreement is reached on the “complete and thorough purchase of Greenland.”

In his post, Trump stated, “Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Finland have all traveled to Greenland for unknown purposes. This poses a very dangerous situation for the security, defense, and survival of our planet. These countries are playing an extremely dangerous game, and the level of risk they bring is intolerable and unsustainable. Therefore, in order to protect global peace and security, tough measures must be taken to quickly and indisputably end this potential dangerous situation.”

In addition, the EU will convene member state ambassadors in Brussels on the 18th for an emergency meeting to discuss the Greenland issue and Trump’s new tariff threat.

According to PolyBeats monitoring, the probability of “Trump obtaining Greenland by 2027” has increased from a recent 6% to 20%.
