US-Iran Talks End in Failure, Trump Threatens to Block the Strait and Resume Limited Military Strikes, Iranian Nuclear Issue Emerges as Major Sticking Point

BlockBeats News, April 13: The U.S.-Iran negotiations lasted for over 20 hours with no success, and both negotiating teams have left Pakistan, with little hope for the resumption of talks. After the meeting, Trump made it clear that Iran’s nuclear capability is a major red line and instructed the U.S. Navy to block the Strait of Hormuz, intercepting all vessels paying passage fees to Iran. At the same time, Trump threatened to resume limited military strikes against Iran. The latest developments in the U.S.-Iran conflict are as follows:

U.S. Side:

Trump and his advisors are considering resuming limited military strikes against Iran while implementing a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz to break the current deadlock in peace negotiations.

Trump: If the nuclear issue is not resolved, we will immediately block the Strait of Hormuz. NATO is willing to help us maintain strait security, and Gulf allies have begun to assist.

U.S. Central Command: Starting at 10 p.m. on the 13th (10 p.m. Beijing time tonight), the U.S. military will block maritime traffic to Iranian ports. Central Command forces will not impede the free passage of vessels traveling to and from non-Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz.

Pentagon: No agreement was reached, and Iran chose not to accept U.S. conditions.

Trump: The Iranian people have not yet left the negotiating table, and we expect them to come back and give us what we want. The talks with Iran were “very friendly” at the end. Apart from the nuclear issue, the U.S. and Iran reached agreement on “most issues.”

Trump: The U.S. may target Iran’s desalination plants and power plants; any Iranian who fires on us or peace ships will be blasted into “hell.”

Iranian Side:

Iranian officials stated that they resisted three major “unreasonable demands” from the U.S. during the negotiations.

Iranian President: Iran is prepared to reach a balanced and fair agreement. If the U.S. “returns to the international legal framework,” an agreement is imminent.

Iranian Parliament advances new plan: Hostile naval fleets will be prohibited from passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Revolutionary Guard: Non-military vessels are allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Any military vessel approaching the strait will be considered a violation of the ceasefire agreement and will face strong retaliation.

Israeli Side:

Israeli media: The Israeli military is preparing to launch another attack on Iran.

An Israeli assessment indicates that the situation on the northern front will escalate within 48 hours, and schools in border towns will be closed.

Other:

Insider: The UK has ruled out participating in the U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

UK Government Spokesperson: We are working with France and other partners to establish a broad alliance to protect freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Pakistani Foreign Minister emphasized that all parties should strictly adhere to ceasefire commitments.

Informed Official: Second Round of US-Iran Negotiations Could Take Place Within Days.
