Viewpoint: Bitcoin Price to Undergo Significant Reassessment After Achieving Quantum Resistance Proposal Consensus

BlockBeats News, February 13th, Bullish, CoinDesk Senior Analyst James Van Straten commented on the BIP-360 proposal, stating that after the Bitcoin price reached $60,000, the entire industry finally began to take the threat of quantum computing seriously, and this progress is gratifying.

Straten said that once consensus is reached, the market may see a drastic 50-100% price revaluation within a few weeks. However, he also expressed concerns about the disposal of Bitcoin held by “Satoshi Nakamoto” and other long-term dormant Bitcoin.

In previous news, Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 360 (BIP-360) has been added to the official codebase. The proposal introduces the Pay-to-Merkle-Root (P2MR) output type, aimed at enhancing Bitcoin’s defense against the threat of quantum computing through a soft fork.
